Sometimes you come across something so ludicrous that a hashtag is not enough and you literally take the palm of your hand and cover your face with it. Today, that something is Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Take a minute and read that again. Don’t worry. I’ll wait.

Now before you start plotting to burn down Hollywood, I’d like to take a moment and inform you that this movie…is based on a book. Really. Check it out here. And you thought Harry Potter was a load of shite. Anyway, check out the trailer…
So…Will It Suck?
To be honest, I’m not sure.
There’s a lot going for this movie, not the least of which is the fact that Tim Burton is producing it. Now say what you want about the guy but he does “strange” really well. In fact, he’s made a good living out of it. And then there’s the bit about Timur Bekmambetov directing it. You may know him from such flicks as Nightwatch, that seriously awesome piece of Good Vs Evil insanity that came out a few years back (also based on books) and Wanted (the comic book movie that sucked so much ass because they decided to make it all PC). And to a lesser extent, there’s the heartening news that Rufus Sewell (who’s ALWAYS good) and Dominic Cooper (Howard Stark in Captain America) are in it, although who this Benjamin Walker cat is, I have no idea. That said, if Burton thinks he’s good enough to play Honest Abe, that’s good enough for me….for now…
So yeah, I’m not sure it will suck. It looks like one of those “check your brain at the door, shut up and eat your popcorn” movies. The kind of thing you go watch by yourself or with a girl who gets the idea. Personally, I can’t wait to see it. But that’s just my opinion. What do you guys think?
